This video serves as an introduction to the coverage of R graphics in this course. Although there are multiple systems for graphics and advanced graphics packages in R, we will only cover base graphics. Base graphics provide a rich set of tools, though, and there is plenty to learn. In this introductory video, we discuss the distinction between high- and low-level plotting functions and introduce some important functions in each category. We also briefly discuss graphical parameters and some of the most important ones. Finally, we introduce the basic anatomy of a graph in R.
This video is essential viewing.
