In this video we review the anatomy of a boxplot and show how to use PROC SGPLOT to produce vertical or horizontal boxplots. We show how to produce side-by-side boxplots as well as clustered side-by-side plots. Boxplots are remarkably useful for exploratory data analysis. You should use them frequently when you wish to visualize the distribution of a quantitative random variable or how that distribution differs across groups (or strata).
