In this video we demonstrate the ODS OUTPUT statement with an example involving PROC FREQ and compare it to the OUT= option on the TABLES statement. PROC FREQ, PROC MEANS and several other SAS PROCs have OUTPUT statements and/or OUT= options that allow certain specific results to be saved into output datasets; the ODS OUTPUT statement is much more general and can be used to save any SAS results in a dataset. Saving results in a dataset for further processing and analysis is an important skill, so the ODS OUTPUT statement is definitely one to know.
