The plot() function is the ultimate generic function in R. It is highly flexible, and produces a variety of different plot types depending upon the class of the objects that it operates on and the syntax used in the function call. In this video we illustrate a variety of uses of plot(), including its use to produce scatter plots (including the use of several different syntaxes for this task); series plots with points, lines or both points and lines; bar charts; side-by-side box plots; scatter plot matrices; multiple pairwise plots in a single function call; and plots of functions. Examples in this video are drawn from Mod12Script.R. You should open
this script in RStudio and follow along, reading and submitting code as
you watch the video.
